Terry Ryan has more than 26 years of experience as an operating executive and advisor to business owners, private equity sponsors, boards of directors and lenders. 18 years has been spent working with businesses that make, buy, machine, fabricate or otherwise process ferrous and non-ferrous metals In addition to running a successful specialty metals manufacturing business as an operating executive and co-founding a start-up in the same space, he has utilized his entrepreneurial skills to lead turnaround efforts, integrate acquisitions and drive business process improvement initiatives across a diverse array of companies.
Mr. Ryan has worked with a variety of businesses ranging in size from start-up to $2.6 billion, both public and private, leading teams and working on engagements in the power generation, defense, oil & gas, transportation and medical device sectors. Representative experience has included a leading OEM of large power transmission equipment, a contract machining business of hip and knee joints, a casting and machining business in the power generation and defense space and a variety of steel mills, casting, forging, tooling and value-added processors in grinding, straightening, heat treating and metals recycling services.
His advisory experience has included representation of debtors and creditors and has included roles as CRO and lender advisor performing business plan assessments, operational and financial restructuring planning and turnaround management. He has held positions including VP and CFO as well as VP and GM of a manufacturing business of engineered specialty metal components for applications in defense and power generation. Mr. Ryan worked for 7 years with Arthur Andersen and has held a variety of finance positions in industry. He is a CPA and also is ASQ-certified in Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis.
He holds a BS in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University.
