Firm Promotes Matthew Dowell to Director and David Mintz to Vice President

NEW YORK, New York – February 14, 2025Carl Marks Advisors, a leading investment bank providing financial and operational advisory services to middle market companies, announced today the promotions of Matthew Dowell to Director and David Mintz to Vice President.

Dowell, who joined Carl Marks Advisors in 2023, specializes in financial analysis and business analytics. Through his strong analytical skillset, Dowell has helped our clients improve their financial performance by analyzing key value drivers and supporting management in implementing changes that have directly improved profitability across various industries. Before joining the firm, he was a Restructuring Investment Banking Associate at Guggenheim Partners. Dowell holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Florida and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mintz joined the firm in 2020 after serving in BDO Consulting’s Business Restructuring Group, where he provided restructuring and turnaround advisory services. With a strong background in both investment banking and operational restructuring, he brings a strategic approach to every engagement, working closely with company owners, management teams, private equity groups, and lenders. In his role, he will continue to advise clients and provide execution support on financial restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, and capital raises. Mintz holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant.
